The lines weren't defined and the ink bled causing the text to look blurry. I was told it would take 30 mins but it took about 5. My tattoo was a simple design, but the tattoo seemed rushed. Step 2: Carefully trace over your design with a paint brush.

If you go to the EPSON site, locate the driver section and identify your printer model, the site will immediately recognize what MAC OS you are running under and display only the latest version for that printer model and your OS version. What sometimes happens is that you get the next to newest one. That will work just fine if your printer's very latest drive is included in that very large download. You basically want to select Canon network over Mac Bonjour network otherwise, the Canon print utility will not display Ink Levels.

My main concern was with the Apple software udate which keeps hanging out there in my face :-). Didn't see anything about CUPS, or Gutenprint anywhere, but the printer is working great, beautiful prints, and I'm usually very reluctant to mess with settings unless I'm having problems.

Under the 'Driver' heading, you should see 'CUPS', not Gutenprint (or something like that). That said, if you open up System Prefs -> Printer Prefs -> select printer -> Open Print Queue -> Printer Setup -> General you should see the driver version.

The Apple software update sent me to Epson, and that's where I locaed the latest v. The reason is that the usual Apple printer driver is the 'Gutenprint' driver and it's very basic and not appropriate for quality work that we do. Do not use Apple software update for printer driver updates unless, when you go to and look for the driver, they explicitly say to do so.
